Overview
Navigate and Shape the Intersection of Business and Government
Our Public Policy & Procurement team will help you navigate the intersection of business and government—and shape it. Our team advises businesses, individuals, nonprofits, candidates, political parties, municipalities, quasi-government entities, and trade associations on legal, procurement, legislative, and regulatory matters.
Many of our professionals have served in senior roles in government and private industry, currently represent influential leaders and entities in politics, and are actively engaged in the public arena. This well-rounded perspective enables us to frame compliant solutions across legal, policy, and political contexts while connecting clients with influential decision-makers and policymakers.
Our Approach: Coordinated, Results-Driven Strategy
Initial assessment
Our collaborative and proactive approach begins with a clear understanding of your organization’s priorities and risk profile. Operating as an extension of your team, we then build a coordinated, timely strategy tailored to your short- and long-term objectives.
Strategic implementation
Leveraging strong relationships with media specialists, public polling organizations, lobbying firms, grassroots consultants, local counsel, and other outside experts, we assemble cross-functional teams that deliver tactically targeted results.
We excel at crafting solutions that account for complex—and sometimes overlapping—local, state, and federal requirements, and we manage multi-jurisdictional engagements to achieve outcomes efficiently and compliantly.
Focus Areas
Integrated Legal Solutions
Our integrated offerings span government relations and advocacy, political law and compliance, and government procurement. We provide end-to-end support—from strategic positioning and stakeholder engagement to regulatory compliance, contracting, and dispute resolution—so clients can advance policy goals, mitigate risk, and capture market opportunities. Procurement is complex, and our cross-functional team of government relations, consulting, and legal advisors positions clients for success.
We support contractors and subcontractors from acquisition planning through contract closeout and, when necessary, in litigation and dispute resolution. Our services span FAR/DFARS and agency regulations; fiscal law and contract types; bid, proposal, and quote submissions; debriefings; bid protests and size protests; contract formation and modifications; requests for equitable adjustment and claims; terminations; small business considerations and joint ventures; intellectual property protection; employment-related requirements; rulemaking input; trade and supply chain issues; government investigations; fraud enforcement mechanisms; and suspension and debarment.
Our subject-matter experts—including respected former procurement executives—will guide you through federal business development and sales processes. We conduct market research and intelligence, develop go-to-market plans, identify and mature business opportunities, create marketing materials, build relationships with procurement stakeholders, assist with bid development, and advise on administrative requirements and business certifications.
Experience
Our Public Policy Law & Procurement Experience

Secured multiple exclusions from Section 232 steel tariffs for a client in the manufacturing sector. These exclusions will result in significant cost savings over the next year. The team overcame challenging odds—the Commerce Department approves only about 15% of requests that draw objections—by crafting a strong strategy that succeeded across all submissions.

Secured a significant trade victory by preventing a key product from being included in the latest round of tariffs under Section 301. This outcome protects critical supply chains and supports continued growth for a U.S.-based manufacturer in the specialty chemicals sector. The Office of U.S. Trade Representative announced its final list of products subject to additional tariffs, and our team’s strategic engagement resulted in the removal of the client’s core product from that list—a rare achievement given the limited number of exclusions granted. This success reflects our team’s deep experience in trade strategy, regulatory advocacy, and engagement with federal agencies and congressional stakeholders.
- Our trade and tariff team recently began working with a global packaging manufacturer to address complex trade, tariff, and political challenges impacting its supply chain. These issues involve critical materials used in consumer and medical product packaging, which are subject to evolving international regulations and geopolitical pressures. The team is deploying a two-pronged strategy—technical expertise and targeted advocacy—to help the client maintain cost-effective sourcing and avoid unfair tariffs and penalties. Over the past several years, this approach has helped clients mitigate hundreds of millions of dollars in potential increased costs.
