What powers my practice

I grew up with the rise of the internet and was fascinated by technology’s ability to change the world. Early in my career, I worked with some of the first dot-com companies and saw firsthand how lawyers could help entrepreneurs access capital and navigate the rules of business—a realization that ultimately drew me to law school and then to Silicon Valley. Today, I love working with entrepreneurs, witnessing their drive to transform insights into new technologies and business models, and playing even a small role in their success. As an active participant in the startup ecosystem, I remain a true believer that startups are the engine of economic progress and a powerful force for building stronger communities.

Overview

Since beginning his legal career in Silicon Valley more than 20 years ago, Bart has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs, investors, venture capital firms, public technology companies, and venture-backed startups. He joined the Venture Best team after founding and running Enterprise Legal Studio, a boutique startup and business law firm, in Lincoln, Nebraska, for over 10 years.

Bart leverages his substantial experience to help clients navigate the ins and outs of venture capital structures and the issues that young tech companies face when rapidly scaling. With a particular focus on venture financing and merger transactions, he has handled countless deals, ranging from thousands of dollars to hundreds of millions, across a variety of economic environments, and through all stages of corporate development.
