Overview
I help tech companies protect their core innovation and data so they can grow with less risk and more confidence.
For over 20 years, my work has focused on the practical legal needs of growing businesses—intellectual property, data privacy, and technology law. I give clear, actionable advice to help you secure your most valuable assets and keep deals moving.
I understand the pressure to sell products, manage budgets, and minimize risk because I’ve been on your side of the table. Before returning to private practice, I spent 12 years in-house as senior IP counsel at a major digital media company. That experience taught me to offer strategic, budget-conscious guidance that fits real business goals, which might be different from the ideal legal outcome.

How I partner with tech businesses
- Secure patent, copyright, and trademark rights to build a strong, defensible portfolio.
- Navigate SaaS, cloud, AI, open-source, and joint development agreements.
- Advise the quantum industry regarding IP protection and licensing.
- Manage data privacy and security risks in commercial licensing and software deals.
- Guide government contractors and subcontractors on software licensing and data rights for federally funded work.
My technical foundation is in physics, computer science, and naval nuclear engineering. I came to the law to use that background to protect innovation with practical frameworks. That training helps me translate complex technology into plain advice and workable contracts.
