Overview
Shane focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and other complex litigation involving patents, trademarks, trade secrets, trade dress and licenses in a wide range of industries and technical fields in State and Federal courts across the country.
In particular, Shane has expertise representing clients in patent litigation involving pharmaceutical, mechanical, electrical, chemical and computer technologies. Shane also has expertise in litigation involving software as a service contracts. Shane has represented clients in courts across the country, including U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal and Seventh Circuits, and U.S. District Courts, in California, Delaware, Illinois, New Jersey, Texas, and Wisconsin, among others.
As a former certified public accountant, Shane brings a unique economic perspective and analysis to each case.

- Successfully represented a leading automotive sensor and technology company in high-stakes patent litigation and jury trial. Secured a jury verdict of nearly $17 million for willful infringement. The court subsequently awarded enhanced damages and attorneys’ fees, bringing the total award to over $46 million.
- Represented seating technology and manufacturing company in patent infringement and trade dress infringement litigation and jury trial. Obtained jury verdict awarding more than $100 million in damages and finding willful infringement.
- Represented a window manufacturer in patent infringement litigation resulting in favorable settlement.
- Represented a window manufacturer in a breach of contract litigation and jury trial. Obtained jury verdict of more that $5 million in damages.
- Represented an agricultural equipment manufacturer in a patent infringement litigation and jury trial involving four patents on farm implement technology. Obtained damages and a permanent injunction.
- Represented an agricultural equipment manufacturer and patent owner in four IPR proceedings, obtaining three non-institution decisions and favorable settlement.
- Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer in a patent infringement litigation involving a medication for treating chemotherapy-induced nausea.
- Represented a pharmaceutical manufacturer in a patent infringement litigation involving a topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication.
